Expected Behaviour at DMS

Dillard Middle School Environment
All students are expected to come to DMS to learn and be active participants in their daily learning. Failure is not an option at DMS!!!
The School Climate will demonstrate all students fully embrace the following belief system of DMS:
Students will follow the WCPS Standard Dress Code

Students are expected to come to school and class on time and be prepared to learn by:
- Having a proper attitude to learn
- Avoiding tardiness to school and classes
- Bringing all necessary school supplies with them
Classroom protocol for students' participation:
- Follow WCPS School Board and DMS appropriate behavior policies
- Follow the Dillard Middle School ROAR Pledge for all student expectations
*Respect yourself and others
*Organize your day for success
*Actively listen and learn
*Respond with self-control

- Follow all ROAR expectations in the hallways and movement on campus
- Walk on the right-hand side of the hallways

- Refrain from talking in hallways during instructional hours


- Sitting only at the assigned table

- Going through the line once

- Engage in excellent social skills during lunch
- Remaining seated until dismissed

- Sit in the seat/area assigned by his or her teacher

- Be attentive to the speaker

- Refrain cat calls, whistling, or other loud noises

- Show appreciation at the proper times by applauding

- Sit upright in their seats (No slouching)

- Listen for dismissal instructions

- No food, candy, or gum in the auditorium


- Flush the toilet

- Put toilet paper and paper towels in proper receptacles

- Take care of his or her personal needs and leaving promptly

- Use good hygiene
